Our amazing PTO provided us with an amazing Chick-fil-a lunch today! We appreciate them so much!
We are ready to see all of our students back to school tomorrow!

We would love to see everyone in their pink on Friday!

We celebrated Johnny Appleseed's birthday on this Friday! All of our activities focused on apples and what we can learn from them. We conducted science experiments, made graphs, play dough, and mini apple pies. We learned about patterns, we read, and painted! All in all, we had a great Friday!

Through the corridors and hallways,
keeping the place clean,
you're always busy working,
but rarely you are seen.
You fade into the background,
you never make a fuss.
But you are sure appreciated,
By everyone of us!
National Custodian Day is coming up October 2! We have some truly sweet custodians that deserve all the recognition! We love them and appreciate their hard work so much!

Earlier today a number of Henderson Middle School students reported to campus administrators that last Friday they overheard another student making threats against students and the campus. Administrators, working with both campus resource officers and the local police department, immediately began investigating the incident. It was quickly determined there was no current or prior danger to any HISD students or staff. The campus was not placed in “lock-down” and the planned schedule for this week has not changed. Unfortunately, many false rumors have been circulating concerning the reports. A complete investigation is ongoing and many of the specific details of the incident remain confidential. However, we would like to thank the students who, in an effort to keep people safe, came forward to make reports. The safety of all our students and staff remains our highest priority and HISD will continue to enforce all appropriate disciplinary measures whenever their safety is threatened.

Just a few pictures of the Big Kahuna Party bus and snow cones from Kona Ice for students that completed their fundraiser goals!

Come and join us in a Back-To-School Bash at Fair Park today from 5:30 - 7:30pm hosted by our HISD Counselors. Everyone is invited! Join us for information on academic and counseling services.

Mrs. Sasha and Mrs. Laci took their classes to EcoLand in Kilgore today. EcoLand is a hands-on, multi-sensory learning center where they learned about the earth through investigation. They had the best day!

Kindergarten is celebrating the end of ABC Bootcamp! Each student was assigned a letter from the alphabet. They all decorated their vests with words that begin with that letter. They all did so fantastic on the stage!
Thank you to Brookshire's in Kilgore, Texas for donating over 200 paper bags for their vests!

One more week until Fall break!
