HISD received a report from a student at the Middle School campus today that they had heard about and had seen a threat to the campus posted on social media. We immediately took this report seriously and conducted a thorough investigation to determine the credibility of the threat.
After a detailed investigation involving a number of students and staff, we have found that the threat was unfounded and there is no evidence that there was ever any danger to our school or students. We take all threats seriously and are committed to ensuring the safety of our students and staff.
We appreciate everyone who cooperated with this investigation and want to remind all students that if they ever hear or see anything that causes them concern, they should immediately report it to a trusted adult. It is important that we work together as a community to maintain a safe and secure environment for all.
If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to your campus principal. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school safe.

Our Pre-K and Kindergarten students receive lessons on a character trait each month. In January we learned about creativity, using one’s imagination as well as becoming a good problem solver. The focus for February was on kindness, acts of appreciation and encouragement. The students were selected for the way they help show these traits. A big thank you to Wylie Primary PTO for the purchase of the t-shirts to give these students saying- This lion got caught having good character!

Camp Read A Lot was SO much fun! The Story Lady was a hit! Teachers were able to interact with students to promote literacy in a variety of ways including games, activities, and the Book Fair.

The Story Lady is coming to Camp Read A Lot tonight! There is something truly special about opening a book and entering an incredible new world where your imagination has no limits and anything is possible. Her hope is to create a unique reading experience for children, where they take full part in the magic and wonder of a story. She will be presenting at Wylie Primary tonight at 4:30 and at 5:20.

This is always one of our favorite days!

Our March Newsletter is full of information for this month!

Today Wylie Primary hosted a health fair for our Kindergarten students. Brittany Dooley was here with Henderson PD and Shawn Blinkley brought a UT Health Ambulance. Bettye Scarborough brought her lung display to educate about the dangers of tobacco products. Dr. Davis and his team from Trumon Davis Dentistry spoke about dental hygiene. Last but not least, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension used their glow germ to demonstrate the importance of proper hand-washing. Thank you to everyone who came to educate our students!

Today is National School Resource Officer Day! Officer King takes care of the Primary and Elementary every day. She works hard to keep students and staff safe! Staff and students love her so much and we are so appreciative for her and her positive attitude!

How SWEET it is to be at Wylie Primary! Our PTO treated our staff to coffee and donuts this morning and we appreciate them so much! We are also in the middle of Kindness Week so we are looking for ways to show each other gratitude, thoughtfulness, and sweetness. ❤️

Our Head Start and Pre-K students receive lessons daily on our character trait of the month. In November we focused on gratitude and December we learned about empathy. These students were chosen as students who show these traits! Pictured is our 4 year old groups for November and December, and our 3 year old group! Thanks to our wonderful PTO for purchasing the t-shirts for us! We are so proud of these kiddos!
