CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION
The purpose of the Career and Technical Education program is to develop more fully the academic knowledge, technical, and employability skills of secondary education students who enroll in CTE courses and programs of study.
The HHS CTE program seeks to offer diverse career pathways with rigorous courses that utilize industry-standard equipment and lead to end-of-program certifications that are portable, stackable, and connected to high-demand, high-wage jobs. Our CTE program seeks to give students the opportunity to:
Get a head start on preparing for college and career
Participate in hands-on training in their chosen program and gain real-world experience through practicums and career prep courses
Earn industry-recognized certifications which they can use to get a job that will help them pay for college, or start their career straight out of high school
In addition, Henderson High School's Career and Technical Education offers many ways to earn college credit while still in high school. Through a partnership with Kilgore College we are able to offer workforce or academic dual credit programs in these areas:
Criminal Justice
Health Science
Welding
