This morning we planned a much-anticipated event that kids look forward to every year; handing out the 2021-2022 HHS Yearbook. As a parent, alumni and, most importantly, as the HHS Principal, I was greatly disappointed. The 2021-2022 High School Yearbook does not meet our tradition of excellence. A yearbook should give you the opportunity to look back and remember the best of times. It should celebrate all of our student organizations, their activities, and their successes. It should recall the people, the places and the events that made that year memorable. The 2021-2022 Yearbook does not. I trust that our students last year put in a tremendous amount of work gathering information, writing captions and articles and building pages. However, not all of their work made it to the printed product.
I am committed to making this right for the Class of 2022 and other HHS students. If you have paid for a 2021-2022 Yearbook, we will deliver a product worthy of your expectations as quickly as possible. We have spoken with the company that prints our yearbook to begin the process of printing a new, complete book. It will include all of our students, our student organizations, and the memories you have come to expect. In short, with a little patience and maybe even some of your help along the way, we will create a Henderson High School Yearbook for 2022 we can all be proud of.

At approximately 1 pm, local authorities alerted the district of a possible threat to an un-named school in the area. All HISD campuses went into lockdown. The suspect has been apprehended and is in custody. The lockdown has been lifted.
Students have been meeting with counselors to make course selections for the 23-24 school year. Ask your student about his/her selections. All students should bring home a progress report on Friday. Click the link for the other events for Week22@HHS.

Remember 9th and 10th graders need a charged Chromebook for their writing assessments on Friday morning. We appreciate you reminding your students to come prepared to demonstrate their writing skills so that we can adjust instruction to ensure their success on the newly formatted STAAR EOC.

Graduation is scheduled for Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 8PM at the stadium.
Student dress code:
Option One: light colored dress shirt with a collar and neck tie or bow tie and dark or khaki slacks with socks and dress shoes or boots
Option Two: A scoop-neck blouse and skirt or a dress with dark dress shoes that have a back. Low heels are permitted (no stiletto)
If your student has not ordered his/her cap and gown, please contact the principal's secretary for information.

Statement concerning medical incident at the High School this morning
(December 15, 2022) Around 7:45 a.m. this morning a high school staff member had a medical issue while assisting students in the indoor athletic facility. The district’s athletic trainers were nearby and immediately responded to provide first aid. An ambulance was called to the scene and paramedics treated the staff member at the scene. Out of an abundance of caution, the employee was transported to the hospital for further observation. The staffer is improving and we wish the staff member a speedy recovery.

Lions soccer game that was scheduled to be played against Crockett at 5:30 pm has been cancelled due to weather.
Lions Soccer game tonight vs Chapel Hill has been rescheduled for Friday, December 16, 2022 at 3:00 PM for JV and 4:30 PM for Varsity due to weather.
